John Stivers
John Stivers was born in Louisville, Kentucky, educated in Louisville public schools and graduated with an advanced degree from the University of Louisville. During all that time he played baseball. After graduation, between managing a dental pracxtice and editing a healthcare newsletter, he played in amateur leagues in Louisville. He continued playing well into his thirties, and when he finally hung up his mitt he wrote sports reports for the Mt. Washington (Ky) Star.
An avid reader, John learned fiction writing alongside such Louisville greats as Betty Layman Receveur, Gary Devon, and Nicole Jordan (Ann Bushyhead.)
Combining his passions for history, writing, and baseball, John has com[pleted his first novel, The Accidental Hero.
John still lives in Louisville with his wife Donna and feral cats Liz, Jack, and Jill. He cis hard at work on his next book, a historical story of the time when the United States came closest to having a communist president.
